NYPD’s Detective Rich Miller and Richie Hartigan raise the American flag the morning after the attacks for their fallen comrades and to inspire fellow First Responders which also inspired the nation.
The morning of September 11th was a moment of tragedy but it was the day after when America’s First Responders, Police Officers, Fire Fighters, members of our Military, ordinary citizens, and allies worldwide, rallied around our flag and displayed a sense of national pride not seen in many years.
All First Responders including the Military sons, daughters, husbands and wives answered to the call of duty like never before. Our American Service Members have served with pride and dignity, some suffering unseen scars and deep wounds, some never returning home to see loved ones who kept the home fires burning.
Through our key initiatives and activities, the Post 911 Foundation believes the nation will re-capture the spirit of national pride found in the Post 9/11 moment and come together once again to promote peace, pride, and prosperity. It is in this spirit, we intend to assist those First Responders and Veterans who have served and continue to serve our nation in the post 9/11 era. Knowing they are in need, we are committed to making a difference through our efforts, so they will be restored, renewed, and empowered to succeed.
